delivering the BIG PICTURE through managing the little details
Tim Foley offers more than two decades of accomplishment-laden experience in the Information Technology environment. Passionate about technology and its possibilities, Tim has progressed from an entry level programmer in the consulting sector to a Vice President within a Fortune 10 multinational financial institution. With an eye toward strategic growth, innovation and simplicity, Tim brings valuable insight and knowledge regarding the business and technology challenges faced by today’s organizations. One of Tim’s key talents is his unique ability to visualize the “Big Picture”, articulate it clearly and precisely, garnering buy-in from upper management, while at the same time being keenly aware of the “little details” on the technical level, all of which fit together as puzzle pieces to deliver the Big Picture.

“Vision without action is a daydream.
Action without vision is a nightmare”

During his most recent tenure, Tim held the position of VP of Global Security Engineering for Citigroup. In this capacity, he led the Data Protection team, tasked with ensuring the privacy and integrity of critical corporate information assets. As a key contributor to the strategic planning and execution of security initiatives, Tim and his team ensured the lines of business were able to meet their regulatory compliance objectives while reducing overall costs. He rationalized projects using multi-dimensional analysis including cost, time-to-market, customer impact, and operational complexity. Tim was credited as the architect who consolidated 5 overlapping and disparate business-operated systems into one central offering, decreasing costs while increasing overall security. During this process, Tim foresaw the ability to increase corporate revenue through cross-selling opportunities between lines of business, due to the increased ease of integration for businesses within the new system. Under his leadership and innovation, he generated overall cost-saves of more than $50 million, both in one-time saves and annual cost reductions.

Prior to this, working with Trawick and Associates as a government contractor, Tim showed his true versatility by working three concurrent, independent contracts requiring vastly different skill-sets. As a Sr. Network Engineer contracting with the Department of Energy, Tim was the chief architect of an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure project. Concurrent with this, he was a systems analyst, managing a team of developers for a national emergency response system. Thirdly, he was the senior IT auditor at the National Library of Medical Records.

Throughout his career, Tim has had the opportunity to “wear many hats” and has proven to be a critical asset to each organization. The depth and breadth of his experience has spanned virtually all aspects of information technology, from strategic planning & IT governance, to operations management & problem resolution, to system analysis & application design.
